The funny things about them is that even if we call them our traditional games, it doesn’t always mean that they originated in our country or that you can only find them in Indonesia. YOYO

Who doesn’t know this game? in some places people even hold yoyo competitions. But can you imagine going hunting and taking your yoyo, instead of your rifle, with you as an instrument to capture animals? Yes, according to researches, this tool, which originated in the Philippines, was not intended for game purposes, but as a hunting gadget and for self-defense.
MARBLES

This game is played by boys all over the world. Even though different countries like Japan, Turkey, France, the Philippines, Cyprus, and Indonesia have different rules of the game, the main rule is the same: Player shoot their marbles at their opponents’ marbles. If they hit the marbles, they win them.
SLINGSHOT

The slingshot or catapult usually consists of a Y-shaped stick with a piece of elastic string fixed across the top of the fork. Kids use it to shoot pebbles. It’s actually not really a toy since it can be lethal and harm other people. In the past, armies used catapults to hurl heavy stones at the enemies’ for.
GALASIN

If you’re fond of running, you might like galasin. This game is played by boys and girls in mixed teams. The game is played outdoor at anytime of the day, even at night during the full moon. For the game a rectangular field (usually five to six meters long divided into two sections each with four parallel lines inside) is drawn using either a stick or chalk on the ground to define the boundaries. Members of one team will take position along the dividing line of the rectangle, while the members of the other group will start from one end running, trying to get through to the other end of the rectangle and back without being touched or blocked. This game is also popular in the Philippines, especially in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. They call this game patintero.

Some historians believe that it originated in China, then spread to Japan and was taken to Europe by Ducth sailors who had traveled to Asia. KITE

No one is sure who invented the kite. But we do know that people have enjoyed making and flying kites for at least 2,000 years. They have been popular pastimes in China, Japan, Korea, and other countries of the Far East ever since. In some countries like Indonesia and the Philippines, kite fights are extremely popular. In this battle, the kite string is coated with powdered glass to make it sharp enough to cut the string of the opponents’ kites.
BIJI KARET
Biji karet or rubber seed used to be boys’ favorite toy for playing a game in Indonesia as well as in Malaysia. You can play it anywhere as long as you and your friend each has a rubber seed. Decide who will be the crusher. If you are, put one of your hands on top of the other, then try to crush both seeds underneath them. if your rubber seed servives, you win the games!
