Riung Sub District

Riung was located at Ngada Regency, a small fishing village on the north coast of Ngada Regency, is one of the few places on Flores with access to white-sand beaches and excellent snorkling over intact reefs.Another attraction in Riung are the giant iguanas - some people call it”komodo” or “mbou” — that can be seen further north along the mainland coast at Torong Padang. The beasts are more brightly colored than Komodo dragons, with yellow markings, and so me people reported seeing one of three metres long.

Riung is now wellknown for its seventeen isles that makes the sea surrounding a paradise for marine lovers. Here one can dive, snorkel, and swim. The beach is a sea-side resort with clear and calm water. There is a beautiful coral reef just off the shore.
