Did you know Del.icio.us?
What’s so yummy?
Joshua Schacter, the inventor of a free web application called Del.icio.us, wants to change the way we think about bookmarks. Del.icio.us enables us to share our bookmarks with other web users all over the world simply bu posting a link to the service with a descrition and keywords (a.k.a tags) to describe the content. Thus, a global bookmark database that a web user can access from anywhere regardless of the OS or web browser is created to share text data. By subscribing to a cooking tag, for example, we will be notified when anyone posts a link to the service using the same tag. This gives us the opportunity to look for new information about cooking on the Net.
Getting started
It’s pretty easy to access Del.Icio.us. just sign up for an account, then pick a username as gateway to the bookmark, and finally create a password. Later, you can access the bookmarks you have made through this address (replace the username with yours of course) -> http://del.icio.us/username. Next, add your posting bookmarklet to your browse’r bookmar bar -> http://del.icio.us/doc/about. Whenever you find something interesting on the Net, just click the “post” link in your bookmark bar and … voila! Enjoy your delicious experience.
